Keller. The original owners, Charles C. Champeny and his wife, owned the Champeny Creamery Company with several locations throughout Milwaukee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1920, a year before he became Chief of Police, Jacob G. Laubenheimer and his wife, Katherine, moved into this residence (just around the corner from Mayor Daniel Hoan\u2019s home at 3328 West Kilbourn). The Laubenheimer\u2019s lived in this home throughout Jacob\u2019s tenure as Chief of Police, which ended with his death in 1936.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The house retains most of its original quarter-sawn oak woodwork, including the master staircase, paneling, and built-in china cabinets. Vintage light fixtures grace the reception area, parlor, and dining room.
